The Qt® Room Control can be used to adjust the sound masking level for an individual room or space. It installs easily in new or existing construction and fits in most standard electrical boxes, including open back, low voltage brackets. The Qt Room Control controlled room can be its own run from the controller or part of a run to other areas. SKU Qt-RC3 is designed to work with Qt 300 and Qt 600 control modules and either standard or active emitters, while SKU Qt-RC2 only works with standard emitters and the Qt 100 control module.
ARCHITECTS & ENGINEERS SPECIFICATION
User-accessible control of sound masking/audio level within a defined area shall be provided via a wall-mounted rotary knob. The device shall accept the input of four channels of sound masking/audio on RJ-45 terminated category cable, distribute two channels of masking/audio to up to eight daisy-chained sound masking emitters, and pass-through unaltered the four channels of masking/audio to the next device in the sound masking zone. The rotary knob shall provide five detented positions, each providing in a -2 dB (nominal) stepped reduction in masking/audio level. An installer-accessible switch shall toggle the leftmost detent between an additional -2 dB attenuation step and -infinity (mute) state. The device shall require no auxiliary power to operate and be compatible with both passive and activelypowered sound masking emitter architectures. Methods utilizing wireless remote controls and devices requiring auxiliary power and network connections shall not be acceptable. The entire device shall fit and mount within a standard, single-gang electrical box or low-voltage bracket and be compatible with Decora® style faceplates. All visible surfaces shall be white with a label indicating that the device controls “Sound Masking.” The device shall meet and be installed in accordance with all requirements of local, regional, and national electrical codes.
